 You are above me, O God. You are within.  You are in all things yet contained by no thing. Teach me to see you in all that has life that I may see you  in the Light of light. Teach me to search for you in my own depths that I may find you  in every living soul.

 In all ten directions of the Universe, there is only one truth. When we see clearly, the great teachings are the same. What can ever be lost? What can be attained? If we attain something, it was there from the beginning of time. If we lose something, it is hiding somewhere near us.

  Days pass when I forget the mystery. Problems insoluble and problems offering their own ignored solutions jostle for my attention, they crowd its antechamber along with a host of diversions, my courtiers, wearing their colored clothes; caps and bells. And then once more the quiet mystery is present to me, the throng's clamor recedes: the mystery that there is anything, anything at all, let alone cosmos, joy. memory. everything, rather than void: and that, O Lord, Creator, Hallowed One, You still, hour by hour sustain it.

 There was a time I would reject those who were not of my faith. But now. my heart has grown capable of taking on all forms. It is a pasture for gazelles, an abbey for monks, a table for the Torah, Kaaba for the pilgrim. My religion is love. Which ever the route love's caravan shall take, That shall be the path of my faith,

 THEE, God, I came from, to thee go, All day long, I like fountain flow From thy hand out, swayed about Mote-like in thy might glow.

 We are stars wrapped in skin. The light you are seeking has always been within.

  Are you looking for me? I am in the next seat. My shoulder is against yours. You will not find me in stupas, not in Indian shrine rooms, nor in synagogues, nor in cathedrals: not in masses, not in kirtans, not in legs winding around your own neck, nor in eating nothing but vegetables. When you really look for me you will see me instantly- you will find me in the tiniest house of time. Kabir says: Student, tell me, what is God? He is the breath inside the breath.

 There are simply no answers to some of  the great pressing questions. You continue to live them out, making your life a worthy expression of leaning into the light.

 Sometimes the way to milk and honey is through the body. Sometimes the way in is song. But there are three ways in the world: dangerous, wounding and beauty. To enter stone, be water. To rise through hard earth, be plant desiring sunlight, believing in water. To enter fire, be dry. To enter life, be food.

 It begins to appear this is not what prayer is about. It is the annihilation of difference, the consciousness of myself in you, of you in me...I begin to recognize you anew, God of form and number. There are questions we are the solution to, others whose echoes we must expand to contain. Circular is our way in. It leads not backward to the snake-haunted garden, but onward to the tall city of glass that is the laboratory of the spirit.

  I would live in your love as the sea-grasses live in the sea, Borne up by each wave as it passes, drawn down by each wave that recedes; I would empty my soul of the  dreams that have gathered  in me, I would beat with your heart as it beats, I would follow your soul as it leads

  But tired of land, we open ourselves to oceans, tired of time we give back all that we've taken, tired of ourselves we open ourselves to ourselves at last, sensing the waves and great abyss of the sea beyond,the ocean stretching on sand and the long view on the still sea that leads to another life.

Not a single soul lacks a pathway to you. There's no stone, no flower- not a single piece of straw- lacking your existence. In every particle of the world, the moon of your love causes the heart  of each atom to glow.

  When each day is sacred When each hour is sacred When each instant is sacred Earth and you Space and you Bearing the sacred through time You'll reach the fields of Light

  Ah, not to be cut off, not through the slightest partition shut out from the law of the stars. The inner - what is it? if not intensified sky, hurled through with birds and deep with the winds of homecoming.

There the soul dwells- like the fish in the sea and the sea in the fish.

 A fish cannot drown in water, A bird does not fall in air. In the fire of creation, God doesn't vanish. The fire brightens. Each creature God made Must live its' own true nature; How could I resist my nature, That lives for oneness with God?
