Sabbath Prayer Practice

In our frenetic world, honoring the commandment to practice Sabbath is a radically counter cultural act. Take some time to reflect upon what you might choose to 'practice Sabbath'--for a day, an hour, even a few minutes. Allow yourself to discover what helps You to remember that you are not God, and that the world will not stop if you take your hand off the wheel for a bit. Your practice might be a form of contemplative prayer, movement, creativity or conscious fasting from certain behaviors. It might be taking a walk, making and eating a delicious meal--or taking a nap. Don't be hemmed in by the 'conventional' ideas about sabbath, for each of us will find the practice(s) that bring the peace and replenishment that come from entering into holy spaciousness.
